The practice of healing through sound is thousands of years old with deep roots in cultures across the world.
In general, a sound bath is a meditative experience where those in attendance are “bathed” in sound waves. These waves are produced by healing instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, and percussion, creating a therapeutic effect.  The experience provides an immersive, full-body listening experience "that can bring balance, relaxation, and a sense of calm to your whole being."

As sound begins to slow the heart and respiratory rate, it can also create a restorative effect on the mind and body.

When you settle in for your sound bath, you lie down and get cozy with a blanket and an eye mask, and allow the stillness to wash over you. You give your body permission to slow down and rest, to receive without the need to respond or react. It becomes possible to down-shift our normal beta state (normal waking consciousness) to alpha (relaxed consciousness), and even reach theta (meditative state) and delta (sleep; where internal healing can occur).

The Full Moon

During a Full Moon, the Moon sits opposite the Sun, fully illuminated from our vantage point on Earth. The Earth rests between the Sun and Moon, allowing the Moon’s radiant light to shine in its entirety. This marks the peak of the lunar cycle—a moment of fullness, illumination, and heightened awareness. What has been quietly growing beneath the surface now becomes visible.

The Full Moon has long been associated with amplified energy, heightened emotions, and greater sensitivity. Its gravitational pull affects the tides, the waters of the Earth, and the waters within our own bodies. Just as the ocean responds to the Moon’s influence, we too may feel stirred, expanded, or more aware of what is moving within us.

The lunar cycle mirrors the rhythm of breath. The Full Moon corresponds to prana—the natural upward-moving energy and the fullness of the inhalation. This phase carries an expansive, energizing quality, inviting clarity, awareness, and presence. While apana grounds and supports release, prana lifts and illuminates, bringing energy upward into expression, insight, and vitality.

The Full Moon invites us into awareness. Into witnessing what has come to fruition. Into recognizing what is asking to be celebrated, acknowledged, or released. It is a powerful time to pause, breathe deeply, and allow the light of awareness to reveal what has been waiting to be seen.
What does the moon
have to do with yoga?

On a Full Moon, the magnetic influence between the Moon and Sun creates a powerful energetic polarity, often generating a heightened outward and upward movement of energy. Rather than drawing inward, energy naturally rises, expands, and amplifies. This can create a sense of brightness, intensity, emotional sensitivity, or even restlessness. When the spine is upright yet relaxed—whether seated or standing—we create space for this energy to move with greater ease, allowing awareness to rise through the heart, throat, and higher centers, supporting prana, the energy of vitality, expansion, and illumination.
For spiritual seekers, the Full Moon offers a potent opportunity for awareness and revelation. This is a time to witness clearly, to bring conscious attention to what has been building beneath the surface, and to recognize what is now ready to be seen. The heightened energy of the Full Moon can illuminate both what is flourishing and what is no longer aligned.
Just as with the four seasons, the phases of the moon carry distinct qualities and intentions. Practicing yoga during the Full Moon may feel different—energy can feel amplified, emotions heightened, and the body either energized or slightly ungrounded. Accept whatever arises without judgment. Rather than resisting the intensity, create space within yourself. Stay rooted while remaining open to the illuminating power of the moon.
The Full Moon reminds us that clarity does not always arrive in stillness alone. Sometimes it comes through illumination—through seeing fully, feeling deeply, and allowing the light of awareness to reveal what is true.
