An introduction to the ancient wisdom and modern science of Chinese Five Element philosophy and how to embrace all elements for spiritual, emotional and physical vitality.
This is a small, limited enrollment group experience!
What is the Five Element System? Every single one of us and every living thing on earth is a unique embodiment and combination of the Five Elements. Truly, the Five Elements are a metaphor, developed long ago to explain Chi – life force energy - and the way energy shapes everything on the face of the planet. The Elements are in a state of constant change and transformation and the patterns of its movement cycle create and sustain all living things.
The body is always seeking balance and so is energy! There is ever-present yin and yang, a constant push and pull, or better, a vibrant DANCE, among forces. Think of your breath: it is a cycle. The lungs open and expand to let breath in and then things reverse to let air out. Even as the body is letting air out, shifts are happening simultaneously to prepare for the next breath in.
This dance is the prism by which all things happen: the seasons, the sunrise, changes in your body, your emotions, and disease.
The Five Elements is the lens though which Chinese Medicine treats disease. We get sick because of imbalance in our body. In this course we will examine all the elements and where we personally have opportunities to correct our imbalances to result in a more vital and thriving spirit, body and mind.
Looking at health and sickness through the lens of the Five Elements is a remarkable way in which to see yourself and others, for insight into the reasons and patterns that attract diseases, and for finding joy, health, and fulfillment. When the energetic systems in our body are balanced and healthy, we feel stronger, happier and better able to handle whatever is happening in our life. In this course, you will begin to learn to identify which of the five elements—Water, Wood, Fire, Earth, and Metal --most directly influences your physical, emotional, and spiritual being, and which imbalances in these energies may lead to particular physical, emotional, and spiritual disorders.
Details about the course:
We will meet on 7 Mondays, every other week, March 29 through June 27 from 4:00-6:00pm MST.
You do not need to make the meetings live to join the course! It will all be recorded and just as effective done on your own time.
Each module is two weeks and we’ll have two weeks between each meeting so we can fully study and explore the element within our own energy and daily life before we shift to another focus. In each module, we will also have a 30 minute practice that we’ll use to help us fully explore each element within us, our habits and our environment.
You do not need to join the meetings live, they are recorded, and you will have opportunity to meet with Blaine one-on-one. The 30 minute practice for each module will also be a separate video for easy access for ongoing practice.

This book is no additional charge and we will use it to guide us through the course.
We will also use supplementary handouts and materials specific to the content of each 2-week module.
We also have an individual aspect to this course!
Every participant will have two 30-minute meetings with Blaine to discuss your specific and unique energy and receive Energy Medicine techniques specifically for you. This can pertain to a disease pattern you have, a life circumstance such as grief, infertility, menopause, stress or chronic fatigue, or anything else you feel that increased energetic focus will help you move through with more ease.

Yoga Hive Studios was created by Mollie Busby — an entrepreneur in Whitefish, Montana. She founded Yoga Hive Montana, and through a series of serendipitous events, met fitness entrepreneur, Blaine Wilkes, who went on to open the first Yoga Hive studio outside Montana in Louisville, Colorado.
