Delhi - The beginning of our journey on the night of October 30th.
Typically, flights arrive very late into Delhi so we have hotel reservations for whenever you arrive on night of Oct 30th or early into the morning of Oct 31st. On the 31st, we'll tour Delhi and take an Indian Cooking class in a private home. There are 3 UNESCO World Heritage sites in Delhi, 174 National Monuments, 30 museums, 20 main temples and hundreds of lesser known treasures. Add to this landscaped gardens, toss in lively markets and amazing street food, to get an idea of this amazing largest city in the world. |
We'll continue on our journey on November 2nd, traveling to Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan.
Jaipur is known for its rich history, majestic forts, and vibrant markets. The city is a treasure trove of architectural wonders, including the Amber Fort, and City Palace. Hawa Mahal, pictured here, is a monument like no other; in India or the world. Completed in 1799 and constructed with pink and red sandstone; the exteriors of this palace stand out for the fact that it closely resembles the honeycomb of a beehive with 953 “Jharokhas” or small windows that are brilliantly accentuated with exquisite latticework. |
On November 5th, we'll begin our journey to Rishikesh and stay at the home of Sattva Academy, the lineage of Yoga Hive Montana.
The Sattva Retreat is located in the outskirts of Rishikesh, the birthplace of yoga, and home to great Indian epic texts such as the Mahabharata, Bhagavad Gita, and the Upanishads. Tucked away in the natural beauty of the Himalayas, this haven rests in Mohan Chatti, also known as the path of the Rishi’s, in a valley alongside a pure waterway that flows down from the mountains and into the Ganges River. The Sattva Academy provides an intimate space, supportive of deep healing, transformation and harmony. Every part of this sanctuary is uniquely designed to revitalize and awaken “reasonless joy” within its guests, bringing them to experience greater unity with the self. |
